U.S. Representative Mike Gallagher urged the Pentagon to provide a classified briefing on assisting Taiwan in deterring China. Taiwan is committed to bolstering its self-defense capabilities and pursuing peace through dialogue with Beijing authorities. 北韓今天(6日)早上才發射兩枚彈道飛彈，南韓軍方在台灣時間晚上6點又宣布消息，指出有12架北韓的軍機進行編隊飛行，非常明顯的是在進行空對地射擊訓練。而南韓總統尹錫悅今天也跟美國印太司令阿基里諾（John C. Aquilino）見面，討論近期北韓12天內六度發射飛彈一事。

美國駐印太地區的最高軍事指揮官阿基里諾上將（Admiral John Aquilino）稱，俄烏戰爭凸顯了中國大陸對台灣的威脅，從過去一年中國在台灣和南海地區日益強硬的軍事活動，到快速擴張的核武與高超音速武器，顯見中國越來越「大膽」，關於中國是否武力犯台，阿基里諾上將不諱言「可能發生」。

美國印太司令部總司令阿奎利諾上將(Adm. John C. Aquilino)20日指出，中國大陸已經在南海建造的三個人工島，進行全面軍事化，部署反艦導彈、防空導彈、激光、干擾設備與戰鬥機等武器，嚴重威脅附近各國安全，並譴責中國大陸此舉已經違背國家主席習近平保證不將爭議島嶼軍事化的承諾。德州州立大學副教授翁履中今(22日)於《FOCUS午間新聞》中，接受主持人黃星樺線上訪問表示，「美中之間現在仍在角力當中，既然是角力就有不同策略，雙方想要達到的目標，就是希望大陸跟美國之間能夠對話，最好是一方能夠配合另一方的想法。以美國立場出發，最希望大陸不管在印太戰略或俄羅斯問題上都能夠加以配合，故在這個時間點去宣告在南中國海的三個島礁早已經完全軍事化，一方面是想突顯大陸現在軍事準備已快速成長，期盼藉此喚起整個亞太地區對於大陸武力的重視。」
